2024 Spring Hockey Clinics

Twin Rinks Hockey Programs have provided the highest level of coaching along with elite training for players of all ages and abilities for 27 years. It’s Twin Rink’s mission to provide superior hockey instruction for motivated players who want to reach their full potential. All participants must PRE-REGISTER online for hockey programming. Full and Single Class registration is available online for all clinics. Walk-In spots are limited and may incur a fee.

Total Skills Clinics Powered by THD

Total Skills Clinics present a distinctive opportunity for AAA, Elite and Tier 1, High School and Prep School players. Total Skills prioritizes quality over quantity. Instruction is tailored to a player’s unique strengths and areas of improvement. Limited spots are available to ensure a high-caliber experience.

Clinics are led by New Jersey Devils skills coach Chris Gragnano. Founder of Total Hockey Development, Chris currently serves as Skills Coach for the New Jersey Devils as well as head coach of Mid-Fairfield’s ’06, 16U & 18U teams and assistant coach for Gunnery School’s boy’s Varsity team. Clients of Total Hockey Development include hundreds of college, professional, and NHL players. Don’t miss this opportunity to skate with one of the area’s most renowned coaches!

Prerequisites: Youth players must have been rostered on a AA, AAA or T1 team for the 2023/24 season to register. Prep Elite is limited to NEPSIHA players and similar. 

Rookies

A Hockey program designed for beginner & intermediate players aged 8 & Under who have already been acquainted with a stick and puck. ‘Rookies’ focuses on the skating and skill development necessary for our youngest players! Tuesdays & Thursdays are composed of skating, skills, and drills. Saturdays are small area x-ice games.

Prerequisites: Intended for 2019-2016 Birth year players. Prior Completion of Dynamites, Mini-Mites, Mighty Mites, or equivalent beginner/intermediate hockey program is highly recommended. Younger/older players may be permitted pending approval by Hockey Department. Players are separated into groups by age and ability. 

Shooting & Stickhandling Clinic

Fridays | 5:10pm-6:20pm | March 29-May 24*
*No Class Friday April 12 Due to local tryouts

Get the repetition and instruction needed to take your stickhandling & shooting skills to the next level. The clinic will focus on teaching proper technique & fundamentals and conduct quick & repetitive drills to build strength & muscle memory. The clinic will also have components in which participants are challenged with advanced & creative drills and games. 

Prerequisites: Intended for 2016-2010 birth years. ’16 Birth years must be rostered on a travel A1 team or higher to attend. Exceptions may be made pending approval from the Twin Rinks hockey department. Players are separated into groups by age and ability. 

Friday Night Pond Hockey

Fridays | 6:30pm-7:40pm | March 29-May24*

Pond Hockey is one of our most popular & fun spring offerings. Play in small areas with lots of puck touches! Pond Hockey provides players an opportunity to just PLAY. No offsides, icing, officiating, scorekeeping, or coaching. Players are split into groups by age and ability.

  • Rotating Regular shifts for equal ice time
  • Goalies Skate Free!
  • Supervised by Twin Rinks staff
  • Great for travel players looking for a fun extra hour of ice

Advanced Development w/ Chris Furtak

Saturdays | March 30-May 25 | 10:10am-11:10am

Intensely and intently train the skills that separate.  Classes focus on developing proper skating ability, puck control, shooting fundamentals, and 1v1 competition. Coach Chris designs his clinics with activity in mind!

Prerequisites: Intended for 2016-2010 birth years. ’16 Birth years must be rostered on a travel A team or higher to attend. Exceptions may be made pending approval from the Twin Rinks hockey department. Players are separated into groups by age and ability. 

Pure Power Skating w/ Seth Michelson

Saturdays | March 30-May 25 | 11:20am-12:20pm*
*No Class Saturday April 13 Due to local Tryouts

This no-frills power skating clinic will emphasize proper edge control, explosive acceleration, weight transfer, and balance. Players will focus on maximizing their forward and backward stride along with some good old-fashioned hard skating & conditioning. Coach Seth breaks down the details necessary to be a complete skater!

Prerequisites: Intended for 2016-2010 birth years. ’16 Birth years must be rostered on a travel A1 team or higher to attend. Exceptions may be made pending approval from the Twin Rinks hockey department.

Skate & Score w/ Brooke Heron

Saturdays | March 30-May 25 | 1:50pm-2:50pm
*No Class Saturday April 13 Due to local Tryouts

A complete skills clinic for players ages 10 and under focusing on skating dynamics, puck control and shooting. Each session consists of at least 20 minutes of edgework and skating drills followed by individual skill work with lots of repetitions. Coach Brooke is an exciting, enthusiastic coach with a knack for getting the most out of each player! 

Stickhandling & Passing Clinic w/ Devin Edgerton

Sundays | April 7-May 26 | 11:10am-12:10am

Advanced stickhandling and passing and techniques taught by Devin Edgerton.

Edgerton has played in over 800 professional games including stints in the ECHL, IHL, and Germany’s top league, the DEL. Since beginning his coaching career, Devin has worked with numerous prep, college, and professional players both domestically and internationally.

Goalie Clinic w/ CT Crease

Sundays | April 7-May 26 | 4:00pm-5:10pm

Goalie-Specific training powered by CT Crease. The clinic will focus on the fundamental skills & techniques which are vital to goaltending success. The pros at CT Crease will also work on Angles & Positioning, Speed & Depth, Situational Awareness & Timing, and Technique & compete level. All Ages are welcome.

Adult Hockey

Spring 2023: Adult Instructional Clinic

Whether you’re a latecomer to the game, returning after a break, or just want to sharpen your skills, our program has you covered. We provide a friendly environment for players of all levels, offering personalized instruction and controlled scrimmages. Choose between Full Registration or Single Session Registration.
