Our Skating Professionals 

The Twin Rinks Skating School is directed by the most experienced coaching staff in Fairfield County. Additionally, all members of the coaching staff are members of and are fully certified by the United States Figure Skating Association and the Professional Skaters’ Association (PSA), the only facility to do so in New England. The Twin Rinks Skating School is one of a handful of programs in the U.S. to hold the PSA’s Excellence on Ice Designation.

Toni Curcio, Skating School Director

Toni was a competitive figure skater and a regional medalist who went on to perform in various ice shows including Ice Capades; The Magic of MGM; where she became a Production Assistant for the show. From 2000 – 2014 Toni worked for and became the owner of a successful Model & Talent agency where she booked models and actors for print, live fashion, commercial work and voiceovers. With over 30 years of teaching experience Toni specializes in Freestyle and Moves in the Field and enjoys working with students of all ages and levels. She has her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Springfield College in MA.

 

June Clark

June has been teaching for four decades and her students compete regionally in freestyle and nationally in synchro. They have achieved USFS gold medals in figures, freestyle, moves in the field, ice dance, and solo free dance.  

 

Teri Smith Curis 

Teri is a United States Figure Skating Gold Medalist, two-time New England Medalist and Eastern Competitor. She has over 20 years of coaching experience and has trained skaters from Basic Skills to USFS Gold Medals in Figures, Moves in the Field, and Freestyle. Her competitive skaters have earned medals at the New England, Eastern, and National levels.

 

 

Jake Fuss

Jake comes to Twin Rinks with a passion for hockey and an extensive resume. Growing up in Fairfield, Jake played youth hockey for Mid-Fairfield and the CT Wolfpack. In high school, Jake helped Fairfield Warde to win the state championships and was named Player of the Year for the State. Jake went on to play 3 years of junior hockey with the The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins where the NAHL team won the Robertson cup. He played 4 years at UNE bringing the team to 2 frozen fours and made 2 first team all-conference teams. Most recently Jake played pro hockey in Huntsville, Germany and Macon.

 

Kayla Grace

Kayla is a dedicated and accomplished coach with over 15 years of experience, specializing in edge work and power skating. Her extensive coaching experience spans both figure skating and ice hockey, where she trains athletes of all ages and skill levels, including mini mites, travel ice hockey teams, and adult learners. As a gold medalist in moves in the field and a former competitive figure skater, Kayla brings a wealth of expertise to her coaching; her goal is to create a supportive and inspiring environment where every athlete, regardless of age or level, can excel and achieve their full potential.

 

Larisa Lomonosova

Larisa trained in Russia and coached figure skating at Moscow’s Luzhniki Skating Rink. She has toured extensively in ice shows throughout the world, including Ballet on Ice in Russia and Circus on Ice in Japan, France, and the UAE. Larisa is a trained gymnast and specializes in many aspects of off-ice training including Progressing Ballet Technique. Larisa teaches Freestyle and Moves in the Field.

 

Caroline Lui

Caroline is a United States Figure Skating triple Gold Medalist with a long list of accolades that include International Ice Dance Champion for Team USA at the Bavarian Open, US National Ice Dance Bronze Medalist, US Sectional Ice Dance Champion and Double National Solo Dance Champion. She has been teaching for 5 years and enjoys working with all ages and levels in Freestyle, Moves in the Field, and Ice Dance techniques.

 

Tamara Sharp

Tamara is a United States Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist in Figures and Freestyle. After competing for 11 years, she turned pro and starred in professional skating shows as both a soloist and pair skater for 16 years. She has performed on four continents and was a cast member of the original Dancing on Ice television series in London, England. Tamara has choreographed both small and large professional productions and 3 skating television series in Europe; she has brought all of her skills and experience back to the rink where she teaches and choreographs at all levels of the sport.

 

Deborah Smeriglio

A native of Greenwich, Deb trained in figures and freestyle in Fairfield County and has been coaching for over 32 years. Her specialties include moves in the field, freestyle, and hockey skating skills; Deb has brought many students through their United States Figure Skating levels and continues to to train students of all levels and abilities.

 

Marina Spagnuolo

Marina trains students from beginners through senior levels in Freestyle, Moves in the Field, and synchronized skating. A coach for over 30 years, Marina was head professional of the Terry Conners Synchronized Skating Program in Stamford from 1995 to 2003 and has skaters on many of the local Synchronized Skating teams in the area including the Skyliners and Team Image.

 

Oleg Voyko

Oleg is a two-time Olympian, having represented Ukraine in Ice Dance at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympic Games in Ice Dance. Oleg has competed at the World Championships, European Championships, and multiple Grand Prix events throughout the world. He currently coaches skaters in ice dance, edge technique, and moves in the field. His skaters have won numerous medals at the National Solo Dance Series and at international adult ice dance competitions
